Angus Morton

Born and raised on a farm in Australia, I began competing internationally in road cycling at 14 and turned professional at 18.

I left the pro ranks at 20 to pursue a degree and career in film, working with some of Australia’s most respected independent production companies across non-fiction and scripted comedy. By 24, I was directing episodes of my first national television series.

It was at this point a mentor advised me that a good director has a deep life experience.

I took the advice, left my job, and hit the road. I spent the next decade, doing all manner of things, searching for the experience that would make me a good director.

I never did find it, but I came to realize the true wisdom in that advice was humility, compassion, and care. I hold onto that dearly.

I reside in East LA, working as a director and cinematographer in commercials and documentary.
